After I built my CocoaTea shop, I decided to use it to take the photos for my Etsy listings (etsy.com/shop/cocoateabythesea come check it out!). I had been taking pictures with just the furniture and they were turning out fine. They were great, nice pics, whatever. In order to show the scale of one of the pieces, I decided to use one of my dolls. Edie was put to work and she did a wonderful job showcasing it.
Doesn't she look great? And she makes the chair look great too. Good job, Edie!
In fact, she impressed me so much that I decided to use her in all of my new furniture pictures. I had planned on setting up scenes for all my new items, including the accessories, but it wound up being too time consuming. But furniture scenes are easier and so much fun.
Along the way Edie started wearing clothes (sorry about the unmentionables pics, Edie) and she was joined by her little baby, Darling. Darling's babysitter fell through one day and Edie ended up having to take her to one of the shoots. We were all delighted by the loving element that Darling brought to the photos, so now she is a regular in all our sessions.
In my shop listings for miniature furniture, the newer listings anyway, have one of the Edie/Darling scenes. Usually it is the last pic on the listing and is sort of like an Easter egg in my shop. I imagine a customer going through and clicking on some of the listings, noticing the pics, then going through the others, searching, to see what else these girls were up to. Now, I don't know if anyone does this, but in my mind, it happens all the time, and I share a chuckle with them.

Time to make lunch!
Darling is ready for her lunch and then some play time with Mommy. Darling is getting a little tired so it's naaaaaptiiiimme.
While Darling is napping, Edie finishes putting away the laundry and does a bit straightening up.
Time for a break! The dishes can wait, mama needs to rest for now.
Darling's favorite game right now is "catch kitty". The kitty doesn't enjoy this game as much as Darling does.
"Mommy's phone has such fun games. Gimme gimme!"
